زیر ِتعارف کتاب:کتاب کا اصل نام ’’ زادالسفر‘‘ یا ’’ زادالمسافر‘‘ ہےلیکن چونکہ مؤلف نے یہ کتاب فیروز شاہ تغلق کے وزیر باتدبیر اور فوجی جرنیل ’’ تاتارخان‘‘ کے ایماء اور فرمائش پر لکھی ہے ، اس لیے اس کی طرف منسوب کرتے ہوئے اس کا نام ’’ فتاویٰ تاتارخانیہ‘‘ رکھا۔ مؤلف اور امیرتاتارخان کے مابین گہری دوستی تھی اورامیر تاتارخان ایک باذوق اور علمی انسان تھا، اس نے مؤلفؒ سے درخواست کی کہ فقہ کے موضوع پر ایک جامع کتاب مرتب کی جائے جو فقہ حنفی کے تمام مسائل پر حاوی ہو۔ مؤلفؒ نے امیر تاتارخان کی رغبت اوراس کے شوق کو دیکھتے ہوئے کتاب لکھنے کا عزم کیا، امیر تاتارخان نے بھی مؤلف کو مکمل تعاون کی یقین دہانی کروائی اور اس وقت فقہ حنفی کی جتنی کتابیں مطبوعہ یا محظوطہ صورت میں جہاں کہیں بھی موجود تھیں، وہ مؤلف کی خدمت میں پیش کیںلیکن افسوس کہ امیر تاتارخان اپنی حیاتِ مستعار میں اس کتاب کو پورا ہوتا نہ دیکھ سکا اور اس کی وفات کے بعد ۷۷۷ھ میں کتاب پایہ تکمیل کو پہنچی۔علامہ عبدالحئی لکھنوی فتاویٰ تاتارخانیہ کا تعارف کرتے ہوئے لکھتے ہیں:
